1. Your boxes
Width × depth × height. Quantities save you entering the same size twice.
Keep flat checked: keep the entered height upright; width and depth may swap. Unchecked: the box may stand on any side.
2. Your containers
Use internal dimensions, below the lid. Containers stay upright.
Start with your measurements or load the example. Up to 60 boxes and 8 containers, including quantities.

Packing instructions
Positions are measured from the container’s left, front and floor. Width, depth and height below are the box’s dimensions after turning it. Numbers match the diagram.

How the planner works
The planner tries many box orders, rotations and placements, keeping the best arrangement it finds. It is a heuristic search, not a guarantee of the mathematical optimum. “Not placed” does not prove a box cannot fit in a different arrangement. Longer searches may help.
With “most boxes”, ties prefer more packed volume. With “most volume”, ties prefer more boxes. Further ties prefer less total container capacity in use, then fewer containers. For a fixed set of boxes and containers, rearranging boxes does not change total empty volume; it changes whether the shapes can fit together.
Boxes are rectangular and rigid, with no diagonal tilting, compression or nesting. Boxes above the floor need full support, possibly from several boxes at the same height. The tool does not assess weight, box strength, access through a narrow opening, or whether your hands can reach a position. Add a little to your box measurements if you need handling clearance.
All calculations and file imports happen in your browser. No measurements are sent to a server. Save your inputs before leaving; they are not saved automatically. No external libraries, tracking or accounts are required.
