I just came across a post on Reddit, about Seattle artist Bill Braun, who creates ultra realistic paintings that look like they are collage craft.
I am looking at some of them for the last 10 minutes and I still can’t comprehend I am looking at acrylic paintings. Look at the shadows cast by the objects cast as well as the staples and wrinkles of the “paper”. Amazing!

As the artist notes on his page, this type of work is called Trompe-l’œil and its aim is to convince the viewer, that what they see are actual objects and not a painting. And Bill Braun has certainly achieved that. My brain still sees collage.
You can check more of Bill’s work on his website.
