The Starry Night was painted in June 1889, and it depicts the view from the east-facing window of Vincent van Gogh’s asylum room at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, a town in southern France, just before sunrise.

Nintendo on the other hand -and on the other side of the world- was founded on September 23, 1889, in Kyoto, Japan, by Fusajiro Yamauchi. At its inception, Nintendo focused on producing handmade playing cards, which were a popular pastime in Japan at the time.
