Wordle Helper
I have also created this Wordle helper. Here’s a guide on how to use it:
- Green letters: Place your green letters on the respective position of the Fill-in-the-Blanks Search
- Yellow Letters: Add any yellow letters to the “Unknown Letters” search box, which keeps track of letters that are in the word but not yet in the right place. Don’t use any spaces!
- Need more Yellow Letters rows? Just click the + button!
- Gray letters: Enter any gray letters into the “Exclude Letters” search box to eliminate words containing those letters.
- Click on Search: When you click on “Search” it will give you all the possible words.
- Exclude Words Already Used toggle will exclude the words that have been used as a Wordle answer before today.
- Click on a word to get the dictionary definition.
Please also consult my Wordle List With Already Used Words to make sure that you are not using an already used Wordle word.
The list I use for the Wordle Helper includes 3,189 words that the WordleBot thinks could possibly be the Solution. The original list from Josh Wardle was 2,315. New York Times removed some words that users might find offensive, but then added some as well. It’s safe to say that if a result looks too offensive to you, it’s probably out.

Hello, thank you for your website. It’s the one I use now that solvle went down. Is there any way you could add a slider to use just the original wordle list please? Also, it difficult when two words are used and there are more than one different yellow letter in the same word position. Thank you again either way.
Hello Stoe! I’ve been trying for a couple of hours to make it so that a user can add more yellow rows, but I haven’t made it work yet. I will try again this weekend. But as for your first question, I am not sure I understand the use case of such a slider.
Hello, thank you for taking the time to respond to my message. I appreciate you working on that update. To give more info about my first question, I also use this for Octordle, which uses the original Wordle list. So being able to differentiate between the original list and the ny times extended list would be very helpful. Thank you again.

This is a terrific website and a great resource. Somewhere, months ago, I read that Wordle will use very few past tense words, specifically words which end in “ed.” Using the Word Helper tool above I searched through the alphabet for words ending in “ed.” Then I toggled off / on the exclude past answers option to compare used and not used words. The only “ed” ending words apparently used in the past are similar to words like greed, with the “eed” ending, and like unfed. Fried was used in the past but seems like its own category. Other “ed” words which only add “d” to the base word, like “moved” or add “ed” like “booed” have not been Wordle answers according to the Word Helper. If “ed” past tense words are indeed in the potential Wordle answer bank wouldn’t several of them have already randomly been used? So I would ask, are these words really in the Wordle word bank or are they, as I once read, excluded? I hope I have explained my question well enough. It felt all jumbled as I laid out the case. Your review of this category of words is appreciated. Thank you.

First of all the Wordles are not selected randomly, but are curated by the NYT days, or even weeks in advance.
Second, my Wordle bank as you showcased does include some words ending in ED, so I do consider them to be possible solutions.
The words on my Wordle bank are taken from the NYT Wordle Bot solutions bank. As the Wordle Bot FAQ states, “These are words the bot considers plausible solutions, with probabilities assigned to each one based on Times usage frequency.
